"An Ounce of prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure”

A very old Quote by Henry de Bracton. While the above quote sounds simple, it’s a quote filled with wisdom.

I've compiled a few tips for your safety & security. Pays to be safe.

1: Scamsters usually target people who are emotionally attached to items, so please exercise caution when dealing with people asking for monetary compensation to return an item. Again they might not be in possession of your missing item/pet etc but might try and convince you that they have possession of it.

2: Do not post links to your Social media Profile or anything Identifying you on social media or your work or Home address. Remember if a stranger finds your missing item and scans them all the information they need to know about how to get in touch with you, is already provided by you on this site. You don't want strangers looking into or knowing about your social life.

3: You can never be too careful when it comes your safety, and safety of your near and dear and your finances. Cyber World as we know is full of scammers and people wanting to take advantage of gullible victims. Be Prudent, Be Cautious & take Simple steps as precautions, because in the end, you can become a victim.

4: We do conduct criminal background or any background checks on any of our members or guests or any verification of any kind of our Registered members or guests. Interaction with members or guests is at your own risk. I don’t vouch or guarantee anything posted or transmitted by our members or guests and or the authenticity of our members. Safety, Security and well-being of our members is very important to me, and since this is an online platform, member to member interactions cannot be avoided, but risks can be significantly brought down if you practice caution and prudence.

5: Never ever give out your financial information, This among others, (your income, bank balance, Banking information, structured settlements, credit card information, information about stocks and bonds, insurance policies and or any thing financially related) You should also not provide your personal information like your social security number, NIB, National Insurance number, and other finance related items.

Exercising Safety when Meeting in Person:

Never leave for a meeting / or meet someone without informing a Responsible Family member, and/ or a responsible Friend. If possible tell them the place, and time of the meeting and any information that could identify the person that you are on your way to meet. If possible setup a predetermined time to touch base with your family/friends to let them know if everything is ok.

Always meet in a well-lit and very Public Place. A meeting too late into the night should be avoided.

If you cannot reach/arrive/drive to the meeting place by yourself or get dropped off by a friend or a Family member, then take Public transport to get there, BUT never ask that person to pick you up at your Home, Office or Place of work.

Make sure you have a cell phone, fully charged and with enough credits to make calls in case of an emergency.

Alcohol impairs Judgment; try not to drink any Alcoholic beverage prior to or while meeting the person.

Always keep your personal belongings close to yourself and never out of sight.

Remember in Cyber World, anyone can be anybody. A trusting Profile Pic, trust inspiring chat and conversation maybe just an eyewash, just to gain your confidence and trust.
